This footage shows how part of the tea plants are shaded from the sun by farmers, to prepare leaves for production of gyokuro and matcha. Then the leaves are picked, steamed, dries and rolled my machines to produce these high quality teas with a distinct flavor and emerald color. It’s worth watching just to see how the leaves for matcha are being air dried! No wonder matcha is expensive – it takes 1 hour to grind 40 grams.
