I haven’t decided if I’m a fan of Houjicha in general yet, but this particular Houjicha felt a bit stale and I think it might have to do with the see-through, foil bag I bought it in, which is a big ‘no no’ in the tea world. I had the impression that it wans’t so fresh.
Very roasty aroma that is hard to describe – reminiscent of oolong teas, but not quite. A little bit like smelling unlit cigarettes. The tea leaves are brown, mixed with twigs as well.
